A: No, this would sever the internal tension mechanism and the shades would no longer function. This kind of alteration will void the product’s warranty.
Q: Are these a privacy shade?
A: Yes, they are light filtering, but not sheer. They provide full privacy.
Q: Can these be an outside or ceiling mount?
A: Yes, these can be mounted inside the window frame, outside the window frame, or to the ceiling. The instructions include directions for each mounting style and the included brackets are designed to be used for either.
Q: Are these shades fire retardant?
A: No, these shades do not contain any flame retardant chemicals.
Q: Can these be side mounted?
A: No, the brackets for this shade clip into place at the top of the headrail. They cannot be attached to the sides of the headrail.
